Burt Reynolds and Sally Field Movie Collaborations

Burt Reynolds and Sally Field, two of the most iconic Hollywood actors of all time, have achieved immense success and adoration thanks to their memorable performances in a wide array of films and television shows.

Reynolds first rose to fame in the 1970s with roles in Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance, and The Longest Yard. Despite his popularity, he ran into financial trouble later in life due to poor business decisions. Yet he never lost the love and admiration of his fans, many of whom consider him one of the greatest actors of all time.

Field, meanwhile, earned a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Norma Rae before becoming a household name through her role as Mary Todd Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. In addition to acting, she has become a notable philanthropist, supporting organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association and the Environmental Media Association. Together, Reynolds and Field have captivated audiences with their charisma and charm for decades, leaving a lasting impression on pop culture that will endure for years to come.

From 1977 to 1980, Burt Reynolds and Sally Field starred in four classic films together, creating one of cinema’s most beloved onscreen collaborations. While the two were first-time co-stars in Smokey and the Bandit (1977), their magical chemistry quickly congealed into an evergreen timelessness. For five years, they dated in real life while making movies together, making it all the more special to observe them grow as co-actors over the next few films. Let’s take a look at the four unforgettable films they made together, ranked in order from best to worst.
