One of the most influential actresses from the Golden Age, she’s beloved for her style, her beauty, and, of course, her talent.

The Most Popular Grace Kelly Movies Today

1. Rear Window (1954)

By far the most popular Grace Kelly movie — and also one of her absolute best films — Rear Window follows a photographer with a broken leg who uncovers a murder while spying on his neighbors in a nearby apartment building, per TCM’s brief synopsis. James Stewart and Grace Kelly are both marvelous here, and Rear Window is considered to be one of the best movies ever made, not just one of the best Grace Kelly movies.

When it was released, Rear Window ended up being a huge hit at the box office and grossed about $36.8 million worldwide. Rear Window was nominated for four Academy Awards, though it didn’t end up winning any Oscars. It was also nominated for one BAFTA and was a Golden Lion nominee at the Venice Film Festival in 1954.

2. Dial M for Murder (1954)

Another Hitchcock and Kelly collaboration, Dial M for Murder tells the story of a husband who frames his wife for the murder of the man he hired to kill her. As many Hitchcock films tend to be, Dial M for Murder seems to be more popular now than it was when it was first released. It grossed about $6 million at the box office in 1953, but it’s definitely grown in popularity in the decades since. As a result, it’s one of the most popular Grace Kelly movies today!

3. High Noon (1952)

While the film received mixed reviews from critics when it was released, it was a hit at the box office. It grossed about $3.4 million in the U.S., $12 million overall. High Noon was nominated for seven Academy Awards; it won four Oscars. It was also nominated for seven Golden Globes, four of which it won.

4. To Catch a Thief (1955)

To Catch a Thief tells the story of a retired cat burglar who fights to clear himself of a series of Riviera robberies that are committed in his style. When the film was released, it was a success at the box office and grossed about $4.5 million in the U.S., and $8.75 million overall. It received somewhat mixed reviews from critics, though it’s quite beloved now and is one of the most popular Grace Kelly movies. To Catch a Thief was nominated for three Academy Awards; it ended up winning only one Oscar for Best Cinematography. It was also nominated for the Golden Lion for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival in 1955.

5. High Society (1956)

In The Country Girl, Kelly plays the wife of a former Broadway star (Crosby) who is now an alcoholic. As she helps him try to make a comeback, her relationship with the director (Holden) helping her husband changes. A riveting film that features Kelly at her best — and in a role that is so different from what she was known for!
