Chicks Rock is a series of concerts promoting local women rockers and benefitting the Ms. Films Festival. Chicks Rock will have shows during the summer and fall (and beyond?) featuring great local bands, and hold a day-long event in October that will include a band showcase and a day of DIY workshops.

Huzzah! Read a review of the Chicks Rock Compilation at Girlstown Productions, an awesome Austin-based organization ("music & news for Austin activists): "We are DIY gals, feminists, Ladyfest veterans and long-time music lovers." They profile a different non-profit each month, support women in music and the arts, provide encouragement and support for young women getting involved with music and politics, they include news of interest, ways to get involved in the political process, and keep us up to date in the struggle to protect women's rights and access to health care. Check them out! Drop them a line! Invite them to your slumber party! xoxoxo
